FAQ

Everything you need to know about ByInvite. If you can't find your answer here, message us through the app.

Getting Started

ByInvite is a private, invitation-only introduction network connecting guests with verified members at curated venues — members' clubs, galleries, cultural spaces, and private events.

ByInvite facilitates introductions between people. It never sells access or guarantees entry. Hosts decide who they introduce at their discretion.

Membership is by invitation only. You can apply by requesting an invitation through the platform. Applications are reviewed by our team.

To complete your application you'll need to provide your name, a clear profile photo, your city, your profession, and at least one social profile (Instagram or LinkedIn). This information helps us verify your identity and maintain the quality of the network.

Once you submit your application, our team reviews it manually. We look at your profile completeness, professional background, and whether you're a good fit for the network.

If approved, you'll receive a confirmation email and gain access to the platform. If your application isn't accepted at this time, you'll be notified as well.

Applications are reviewed in the order they are received and can take a few days. If you've been waiting for more than a week, you're welcome to reach out to us via the contact form.

Access & Venues

On any venue page, you can send a request to be introduced. You may send a general request to be introduced by any verified member at that venue, or request access to a specific hosted event.

You can only have one active request per venue at a time. Once a request is resolved — accepted, declined, or cancelled — you may send a new one.

Your request is shared with verified members at that venue who have opted in to host guests. The first member to accept introduces you.

For event-specific requests, only the event host receives your request. You'll be notified of any update directly in the app.

An accepted introduction means a verified member is willing to introduce you, but entry to any venue or event remains subject to the venue's own policies and the host's discretion. ByInvite does not and cannot guarantee admission.

A verified venue is a members' club, gallery, cultural space, or private location that has been confirmed by our team and is represented on the platform by its verified members. Verified members at a venue can host guests there.

Yes. If you're a member of a club or private space that isn't listed yet, you're welcome to suggest it. Message us via Help & Support in the app or use the contact form and we'll look into it.

Hosting

To host guests at a venue, you need to be a verified member of that venue. Verification is done by our team — if you're an established member of a club or space listed on the platform, reach out to us and we'll verify your membership.

Once verified, you can create a Live Signal or a Hosted Event from the My Events tab, and start receiving guest requests.

A Live Signal is a real-time presence signal — a way to let the network know you're at or heading to a venue now, tonight, or tomorrow. It invites other members and guests to reach out and join you.

Live Signals are lightweight and time-bound. They don't require much setup — just your vibe, visibility setting, and an optional note.

A Hosted Event is a planned gathering at a verified venue that you organise and invite guests to. You set the date, time, optional guest limit, and manage who you introduce.

Events are visible to members and guests browsing the platform. You review each request and decide individually who to accept.

Pending guest requests appear in the My Events tab under your hosting moment. You can review each one and choose to accept or decline.

Accepting a request opens a direct conversation with that guest so you can coordinate details. Declining is done discreetly — guests are not given a reason.

You can cancel a Hosted Event or Live Signal from the event detail page in the app. Accepted guests will be notified automatically. We recommend cancelling as early as possible out of courtesy.

Connections & Messaging

You can send a connection request to any member whose profile you can view. Connection requests can include a short note.

Once both parties are connected, you can message each other freely and see each other's full profile.

You can message any member you're connected with, or any host who has accepted your guest request. Messaging requires an established introduction — you can't cold-message members you haven't interacted with.

Yes. You can block any member from their profile or from a conversation. Blocked members cannot see your profile, contact you, or include you in hosting requests. You can manage your blocked list in Settings → Privacy.

Privacy & Account

Your first name, profile photo, city, profession, and age are visible to any logged-in member. This is the baseline — enough for someone to know who they're potentially meeting.

More detail becomes visible progressively: once you've sent a request or been accepted as a guest, the host sees more. Connected members see your full name, social handles, and secondary photos.

Your full name, social handles, profile link, photo gallery, and interest tags are only visible to members you're connected with, or to hosts who have accepted your guest request. This graduated visibility protects your privacy while keeping the network functional.

You can delete your account from Settings → Account → Delete account. This is permanent: your profile, connections, messages, and hosting history are removed. If you change your mind, you'd need to apply again from scratch.

The fastest way is to message us directly through the app — go to Settings → Help & Support to open a conversation with the ByInvite Concierge. You can also use the contact form on this website. We aim to respond within one business day.
